My work is informed by my deep connection to the Women’s Movement in Argentina and the struggle for women’s equality worldwide. My mixed media pieces express both the pain and the determination inherent in pushing past and present social, political, and economic barriers facing women.

I chose to work with this topics pushed for the evidence of a culture crossed by femicide and patriarchy in Argentine.

To show this topics I combined three techniques that I learned during the last 20 years as painting, mixed media and photography.

I builds human cages imitate animal cages in metal with a dark and earthy dry pigments palette on top of sand. The structures metaphorically house patriarchal society keeping women “in their place”. I use sand to represents time and archaic stereotypes obscuring and rendering women invisible emulating a cave; in some of them the cave is static, in others start to break it. Central to each piece is a photograph of a woman trapped within. I use crosses wires oxidized and raw generating tensions between the visible subjugation and the promulgation of freedom. To show the current social movement I built a piece have two sides where in the front a picture is analyzing the leak and on the back denote the fury of the submission.

My pieces depicts women unjustly limited by laws, their lives restricted by others determined to constrain and dominate.

Mi trabajo se basa en mi profunda conexión con el Movimiento de Mujeres en Argentina y la lucha por la igualdad de las mujeres en todo el mundo. Mis piezas de medios mixtos expresan tanto el dolor como la determinación inherentes a empujar las barreras sociales, políticas y económicas pasadas y presentes que enfrentan las mujeres.

Elegí trabajar con estos temas impulsados ​​por la evidencia de una cultura atravesada por el feminicidio y el patriarcado en Argentina.

Para mostrar estos temas combiné tres técnicas que aprendí durante los últimos 20 años como pintura, técnica mixta y fotografía.

Construyo jaulas humanas imitando jaulas de animales en metal con una paleta de pigmentos secos oscuros y terrosos sobre arena. Las estructuras albergan metafóricamente a la sociedad patriarcal manteniendo a las mujeres “en su lugar”. Utilizo arena para representar el tiempo y los estereotipos arcaicos que oscurecen y hacen invisibles a las mujeres emulando una cueva; en algunos de ellos la cueva es estática, en otros se empieza a romper. En el centro de cada pieza hay una fotografía de una mujer atrapada en su interior. Utilizo cruces de alambres oxidados y crudos generando tensiones entre la subyugación visible y la promulgación de la libertad. Para mostrar el movimiento social actual construí una pieza que tiene dos lados donde en el frente una imagen está analizando la filtración y en la parte posterior denota la furia de la sumisión.

Mis piezas representan a mujeres injustamente limitadas por leyes, sus vidas restringidas por otros decididos a restringir y dominar.
